Cheryl Willis - adviser

Has had a varied career in a variety of business settings prior to moving into acting as an interface between schools and businesses.

An early part of Caring for Education (C4E) as a force for raising attendance, aspiration and work related learning skills and introducing 'Workwise' to the schools of Lowestoft and other parts of Suffolk.

Has worked in education business links for 10 years and has accumulated a wealth of wide ranging experiences from managing reading partnerships to taster day sessions with middle school students.

Worked for Lincolnshire Education Business Partnership for 2 years.

Re-established connections with Lowestoft schools returning to C4E in 2003 to broker important industry experiences for students of the ground breaking Entrepreneurial Studies course.

Represents Enterprise Lowestoft on Education Business Link Consortiums and networks at Business Link and Chamber of Commerce Business Days.

Has two children currently in years 10 and year 11 and is well aware of the pressures on students of this age.

Has a very good understanding of how the business sector can work with and be a powerful motivator within a school environment and also understands the structure and demands of school life on both the teaching staff and students.

Recruited to lead a team of teachers to develop a Teaching and Learning programme for RoSLA students at King Edward V1 Upper School – Bury ST Edmunds.
Has worked largely with teenagers labelled as “disaffected”.

Biographical Details
Has taught in all areas of Suffolk in rural and urban environments. Head of Sixth Form and senior teacher. As senior teacher, she has been key in implementing wide-ranging changes.

Significant experience of successful bid writing. Keynote speaker at several conferences on wide-ranging number of issues. Has successfully organised large-scale educational and business events throughout East Anglia and London.
